STONE HARBOR, N.J. -- Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere said Tuesday he expects to be cleared for skating next week.
Gostisbehere, 23, had surgery May 17 to repair the labrum in his right hip and bilateral lower-abdominal muscle tears. He was expected to need 10-12 weeks to recover.
"I feel good," Gostisbehere said during an appearance at "Trial on the Isle," a beach event that marked the final day of Flyers development camp. "It's been about eight weeks now. I feel good. Just getting back to it. I'm going out of town for a week here, but when I get back I can finally get on the ice. It'll be good."
