Fred Brathwaite

It's been a while for Fred Brathwaite.

The former NHL goalie, a veteran of nine seasons with the Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, St. Louis Blues and Columbus Blue Jackets last played professionally in 2011 in Germany.
He last played professionally in North America in 2008, posting a 10-2 record for the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. He last played in the NHL in 2004.
But on Saturday, the now 48-year-old Brathwaite found himself donning the goalie gear once again, suiting up as the emergency backup goalie (EBUG) for the Henderson Silver Knights, AHL affiliate of the Vegas Golden Knights, for whom he is the goaltending coach.

There was a lot of that going around on Saturday as Ottawa Senators forward Artem Anisimov had to
put on the goalie gear to act as EBUG
for a game against the Vancouver Canucks.
The AHL also shared the photo, in which Brathwaite is

Olle Eriksson Ek, currently of the San Diego Gulls.
Brathwaite did not see any ice time in the Silver Knights' 4-1 loss.
