A young man from Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, got the surprise of his life in early January when he thought he would have his neighborhood outdoor rink all to himself by getting up at dawn, as he usually does.

On the morning of Jan. 9, Guillaume Ouimet was surprised to find he had a playmate. And not just any playmate.
In a story published in the Montreal daily, La Presse +, on Wednesday, Ouimet said Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby showed up to get his skate on.

"I immediately recognized him from a distance," Ouimet told La Presse +. "I was stunned. Next thing I knew, I was introducing myself."
The Penguins were off for five days, and Crosby took advantage of the break to spend some time with his girlfriend in the Mont-Tremblant area.
It seems the Kid will find a rink wherever he goes.
Crosby laced up his skates on a snowbank beside the rink and worked out for more than an hour with the 19-year-old Quebecer, who plays junior AA hockey.
Ever the perfectionist, Crosby twice put off leaving the rink in order to practice getting out of the left corner without being held back.

The two new rink pals then made their way to the local arena, where Ouimet showed Crosby the dressing room used by his team, the Mont-Tremblant Diables (Devils).
Ouimet told La Presse + that he had trouble getting anyone to believe him when he returned home and told his incredible story to his family and friends.
It was only two days later, when he received photos taken by Crosby's girlfriend, that he was able to prove to everyone that he had truly experienced a dream morning.
