With so much drama in the AHL it's kinda hard being the Springfield Thunderbirds, but they, somehow, some way, keep coming up with funky promotions like every single day.
Snoop Dogg is of course a long-time hockey fan and even emceed the 2017 NHL All-Star Game festivities in Los Angeles . The Thunderbirds are not the same franchise as the Indians. The Indians were once owned by Hockey Hall of Famer Eddie Shore, who purchased the team in 1939, and are now called the Utica Comets. They are currently affiliated with the Vancouver Canucks. But the Thunderbirds do occupy the same market the Indians once did, in the city of Springfield, Mass. So they decided to run a little promotion around the famous sweater. In addition to wearing the throwback jerseys, the team offered fans $5 gin and juice drinks.
In honor of @SnoopDogg 's tribute to our Indians' jersey, the @MM_Center is providing $5 Gin & Juice for Blast From The Past Night!
