Getzlaf skated around the ice for several minutes following the game. Members of the Blues and the on-ice officials also stayed around to congratulate Getzlaf, whose wife Paige, four children and his parents, Steve and Susan, sat on the Anaheim bench.
"It's an emotional time, man. This has been my life for so long, and this building, showing up every day, is all that I've known," he said. "We'll wake up [Monday] and see what's next, but I love this place and thank you so much for having me."
