Faulk scores twice, Blues edge Coyotes in 5-4 OT win

GLENDALE, Ariz. --Justin Faulk scored his second goal 30 seconds into overtime for the St. Louis Blues, who extended their point streak to 15 games with a 5-4 win against the Arizona Coyotes at Gila River Arena on Saturday.

Faulk, who also had an assist, took a pass from Vladimir Tarasenko following a face-off and shot blocker side from above the circles.
Arizona had tied it 4-4 after St. Louis led 3-0 and 4-1.
"Ideally, it doesn't come to that situation. I'm not too pleased with our third period to be honest with you," Faulk said. "A three-goal lead, sometimes the team leading gets a little loose, and it's easy for the team that's down to play."

Logan Brown had a goal and an assist for the Blues (48-20-11), who are 13-0-2 during the streak, a team record. Jordan Binnington made 16 saves.
St. Louis moved into a tie for second in the Central Division with the Minnesota Wild, who have one game in hand.
"I think we might have just gotten away from it a little bit, but you learn from it and at the end of the day, we came back and we again got two points," Brown said.
Bokondji Imama, Michael Carcone and J.J. Moser scored in the third period for the Coyotes (22-50-7), who have lost 10 straight (0-8-2). Harri Sateri made 28 saves.
"They're a really good team and we had a tough time creating offense, but we found a way and found our rhythm and had more cohesion," Arizona coach Andre Tourigny said. "There's a lot of positive there, a lot to build around in that game."
Imama, who was playing in his second NHL game, cut it to 4-2 at 5:39 of the third off a backhand pass from Alex Galchenyuk near the top of the crease.
"'Boko' is a longtime minor league player who made his way, fought, fought through adversity, and he made it," Tourigny said. "It's a little bit like Carcone."

Carcone made it 4-3 at 6:23, and Moser tied it 4-4 at 15:18 on a one-timer from the top of the left circle.
"We let them back in," Faulk said. "We just needed to keep doing what we were doing."
Said Blues coach Craig Berube, "We controlled the whole game, but you can't turn pucks over and can't be soft in your own end no matter who you're playing. Then it gets everybody on edge for the rest of the game."
Faulk gave St. Louis a 1-0 lead at 3:13 of the first period with a one-timer from the top of the left circle.
Ivan Barbashev made it 2-0 at 5:51, jamming in a rebound after Faulk's slap shot trickled past Sateri.
Brandon Saad's power-play goal extended the lead to 3-0 at 16:20. Saad attempted a backhand pass to David Perron, but the puck rebounded to him off Loui Eriksson and he scored inside the right post.

Brown pushed it to 4-1 at 2:56 of the second on a rebound. St. Louis' fourth line of Dakota Joshua, Brown and Nathan Walker combined for four points.
"They had a great game tonight again," Berube said. "They're just working hard. There's really good chemistry between the three of them, and they've done a great job for us."
