SUNRISE, Fla. --The Florida Panthers came back for a third straight game and defeated the St. Louis Blues 4-3 in a shootout at FLA Live Arena on Saturday.

Maxim Mamin
scored twice for the Panthers (17-4-3), who trailed by a goal three times. Florida trailed by three goals in each of its past two games, a 5-4 win against the Washington Capitals on Tuesday and a 7-4 win against the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday.
"They stayed with the game plan," Florida coach Andrew Brunette said. "We played a strong game, regardless of the result. We had the puck all game, it felt like."
Sergei Bobrovsky made 22 saves for Florida, which has won 14 of 15 home games.
Ville Husso made an NHL career-high 48 saves for the Blues (12-8-4). It was his second straight start with goalie Jordan Binnington in NHL COVID-19 protocol. He made 31 saves in a 4-2 loss at the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday.
"I need to step up and play at a good level every night. It's nice to get some back-to-back games," Husso said. "I haven't played those for a while. I think it's easier for me to get dialed in right away for games when you play back-to-back games. It was a tight game and kind of disappointing. But, one point, they're a good hockey team too, and we got one point so we need to look at the positive side."

STL@FLA: Saad buries Reilly's dish to put Blues ahead

Brandon Saad scored at 4:29 to give the Blues a 3-2 lead. Mamin tied it 3-3 at 17:26 of the third period with a wrist shot off a face-off in the left circle. It was Mamin's first two-goal game in 42 NHL games.
"I thought the last couple of games he's been trending," Brunette said. "I thought 'Mams' did a really good job of hounding pucks and staying on pucks."

Jake Walman gave St. Louis a 2-1 lead at 6:36 of the second period with a slap shot from the high slot after Ryan O'Reilly stole the puck from Radko Gudas on the low boards.
Sam Reinhart made it 2-2 at 18:00 of the second off a rebound. Reinhart, who scored the game-deciding goal in the shootout, has scored in three straight games.
"They're a tough team to play against," Reinhart said. "They don't give up much. I liked our determination. We were able to get rewarded and win. We felt comfortable. We felt it was our best 60 (minutes) in a while. You've got to give credit to them too. It's not really a shocker it went down to the wire."

St. Louis took a 1-0 lead at 5:24 of the first period when Logan Brown tapped in Dakota Joshua's centering pass. Mamin tied it 1-1 at 7:04 with a wrist shot from the high slot.
"The goalie played really well," Blues coach Craig Berube said. "Guys battled, had to kill some penalties in the third and overtime. They battled. We've got to work on some things for sure. We play them again (Tuesday). We'll look at the tape and we'll get better."
