Calle Jarnkrok had a goal and Austin Watson scored twice in the span of 1:15 to force overtime.
"It's really bad for two periods, and then it's a great third period," Forsberg said. "Huge goals from Jarnkrok] to start, and then two unbelievable goals by [Watson]. And here we are."

Pekka Rinne made 28 saves for the Predators (34-12-9), who extended their Central Division lead against the Blues to five points.
Rinne is 10-0-1 in his past 11 starts and hasn't lost in regulation since Jan. 2.
Jay Bouwmeester, Alexander Steen and Jaden Schwartz scored, and Carter Hutton made 29 saves for the Blues (34-21-4), who lost their second straight (0-1-1) and trail the Winnipeg Jets by three points for second place in the Central Division.

"Obviously they had a push," Blues coach Mike Yeo said. "We knew they would. We knew they'd come out hard. We talked about in between the second and third making sure that we dictated in terms of pace and direction, and I felt that we just absorbed a bit too much there."
Jarnkrok scored for the Predators to make it 3-1 at 9:06 of the third period.
Watson made it 3-2 at 14:33 with a shorthanded goal. Ryan Ellis' backhand shot was stopped by Hutton, but Watson was first to the rebound and scored from just outside the crease.

"We got a little aggressive there on the penalty kill," Predators forward Colton Sissons said. "[Ellis] made a great play throwing it to the backside and Watson scored the goal. We started building our momentum from there."
Watson scored again for the Predators at 15:48 to tie the game 3-3. Craig Smith took the initial shot, and Watson got to the rebound, shooting it just past the goal line as Blues defenseman Colton Parayko tried to knock it out.
"I don't know if I can [explain the comeback]," Watson said. "I don't think there's a recipe for that other than just continuing to work, not getting discouraged. Obviously frustrated by the effort that we put out for the first two periods, but this group never backs off and never gives up. We kept pushing, and we were able to get a couple to go for us and tie it up."

Bouwmeester gave the Blues a 1-0 lead at 15:18 of the first period on a slap shot on the rush. He took a pass from Patrik Berglund and beat Rinne on the blocker side.
Steen gave the Blues a 2-0 lead at 3:10 of the second period on a rebound. Vladimir Tarasenko passed to Paul Stastny on a 3-on-2, and his backhand shot was saved by Rinne before Steen got the rebound and scored top shelf.
Schwartz gave the Blues a 3-0 lead at 9:00 when he scored off a rebound from Steen's initial shot.

They said it

"It was big, there's no question, but still you've got a 3-2 lead with four minutes left and still some power play time. We got a couple of quick chances but to give up another one right as the power play expires, we have to do a better job there. Things happen through the course of a game, and you have to be able to deal with that. Obviously, when they had a push and they got some momentum, it seemed to put us on our heels a little too much." -- Blues coach Mike Yeo
"I mean we obviously dug ourselves a big hole against a good team. Now we see what happens when we don't play, and we also see what happens when we do play. We'll learn from both things for sure." -- Predators forward Filip Forsberg

Need to know

Tarasenko played in his 400th NHL game and finished with two assists. … Forsberg's penalty shot was the second successful overtime penalty shot in Predators history (David Legwand against the New York Rangers on Dec. 23, 2000).
