O'Reilly gives Blues their 11th consecutive victory

The St. Louis Blues won their 11th consecutive game, their longest streak since entering the NHL in 1967, when Ryan O'Reilly scored 34 seconds into overtime for a 3-2 victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Enterprise Center on Tuesday.

Jordan Binnington made 31 saves for his ninth straight victory. Binnington (13-1-1), joined Andrew Hammond (14-0-1), Patrick Lalime (13-1-1), Frederik Andersen (13-2-0), Bob Froese (13-1-1) and Wayne Thomas (13-1-1) as the sixth goalie in NHL history to win at least 13 of his first 15 NHL starts. He also became the 10th rookie goalie with a winning streak of at least nine games. Ross Brooks set the record of 12 with the 1973-74 Boston Bruins.
The Blues' winning streak is the longest in the NHL this season. The last team to have one longer than 11 games was the 2016-17 Columbus Blue Jackets, who won 16 in a row. That's one short of the NHL record set by the 1992-93 Pittsburgh Penguins, whose 17-0-0 run is
the longest in NHL history
.

Lightning win seven straight for third time this season

Five players scored, and Louis Domingue made 28 saves for the NHL-leading Tampa Bay Lightning (46-11-4), which won its seventh straight game by defeating the Philadelphia Flyers 5-2 at Wells Fargo Center.
Tampa Bay is the sixth team in NHL history to have at least three winning streaks of seven games or longer in the same season. The Lightning were 8-0-0 from Nov. 29-Dec. 13 and 7-0-0 from Dec. 18, 2018-Jan. 3, 2019. The only team with four such streaks was the 1983-84 Edmonton Oilers.
The Lightning are 9-0-2 in its past 11 games. They also had a 16-game point streak this season, going 15-0-1 from Nov. 29, 2018-Jan. 3, 2019 and are the second team in the past 10 years with multiple point streaks of at least 11 games in one season. The Chicago Blackhawks had streaks of 24 and 11 games in 2012-13.
Domingue is 11-0-0 with a 2.52 goals-against average and .914 save percentage in his past 11 games. His 11-game winning streak is the longest by a Lightning goalie since Tampa Bay entered the NHL in 1992-93. The last goalies to have winning streaks longer than 11 games were Braden Holtby of the Washington Capitals and Sergei Bobrovsky of the Blue Jackets, who each won 14 in a row in 2016-17.

Lundqvist, Miller spark teams to wins

Two of the NHL's four leaders in career wins added to their totals Tuesday.
Henrik Lundqvist made 43 saves for the New York Rangers in a 2-1 win against the Carolina Hurricanes at PNC Arena. It was the 448th win of Lundqvist's NHL career, six from tying Curtis Joseph (454) for
sixth on the all-time list
. It was also the 18th victory when he's made at least 40 saves. Since shots on goal became an official statistic in 1955-56, the only goalie in Rangers history with more wins with at least 40 saves is Gump Worsley (22). Lundqvist is second in wins among active goalies behind Roberto Luongo of the Florida Panthers (483).
Two days after becoming the winningest United States-born goalie in NHL history, Ryan Miller made 31 saves for the Anaheim Ducks in a 4-0 victory against the Minnesota Wild at Xcel Energy Center. Miller is the fourth different goalie since 2013-14 to earn a shutout at age 38 or older; Luongo, Martin Brodeur and Evgeni Nabokov each had four. It's the 44th NHL shutout for Miller, who is fourth among active goalies with 376 wins and second among U.S.-born goalies in shutouts behind Jonathan Quick (51) of the Los Angeles Kings.
