There are 13 games on the NHL schedule Tuesday, 10 with playoff implications.
Florida Panthers at Boston Bruins (7 p.m. ET; NESN, BSFL, ESPN+, NHL LIVE)
The Panthers lead the Colorado Avalanche by four points for the Presidents' Trophy and a team-record 13-game winning streak ended with an 8-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday. The Bruins are three points behind the Lightning for third in the Atlantic Division and three ahead of the Washington Capitals for the first wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference.
Columbus Blue Jackets at Tampa Bay Lightning (7 p.m. ET; BSSUN, BSOH, ESPN+, NHL LIVE)
The Lightning are five points behind the Toronto Maple Leafs for second in the Atlantic Division. The Blue Jackets have been eliminated from playoff contention.
Carolina Hurricanes at New York Rangers (7 p.m. ET; MSG, BSSO, ESPN+, NHL LIVE)
The Hurricanes can clinch the Metropolitan Division with a win in regulation. They defeated the Rangers 4-2 at Madison Square Garden on April 12 and have won four in a row. New York had won four straight games before a 3-1 loss at Boston on Saturday.
Edmonton Oilers at Pittsburgh Penguins (7 p.m. ET; ESPN, SN360, SNE, SNP, TVAS, NHL LIVE)
The Oilers lead the Los Angeles Kings by two points for second in the Pacific Division and the race for who will earn home-ice advantage in the Western Conference First Round. The Penguins lead the Capitals by one point for third in the Metropolitan Division.
New York Islanders at Washington Capitals (7 p.m. ET; NBCSWA, MSG+ 2, ESPN+, NHL LIVE)
The Capitals hold the second wild card from the East. Forward Alex Ovechkin, fourth in the NHL with 50 goals, is day to day with an upper-body injury. The Islanders have been eliminated from playoff contention.
Calgary Flames at Nashville Predators (8 p.m. ET; BSSO, SNW, ESPN+, NHL LIVE)
The Flames have clinched the Pacific Division. The Predators are one point ahead of the Dallas Stars for the first wild card from the West. Nashville defeated Calgary 3-2 in a shootout April 19, the Flames' only loss in their past five games (4-0-1) and the Predators' lone win in their past four (1-2-1). Nashville will clinch a playoff berth with a regulation win. There are
four other scenarios
that will put the Predators in the playoffs.
Arizona Coyotes at Minnesota Wild (8 p.m. ET; BSNX, BSWIX, BSAZX 2, ESPN+, NHL LIVE)
The Wild continue to compete for home ice against the St. Louis Blues in the first round. Minnesota and St. Louis are tied for second in the Central Division with the Wild holding one game in hand. Minnesota has won five straight since a 6-5 overtime loss at St. Louis on April 16. Arizona, eliminated from playoff contention, has lost 10 in a row (0-8-2).
Vegas Golden Knights at Dallas Stars (8:30 p.m. ET; BSSWX, ATTSN-RM, ESPN+, NHL LIVE)
The Stars can clinch a playoff berth and eliminate the Golden Knights from contention with a regulation win. Dallas is three points ahead of Vegas for the second wild card. The Golden Knights have never failed to make the playoffs since joining the NHL as an expansion team in 2017-18. A Dallas win of any kind would clinch a playoff berth for the Los Angeles Kings.
St. Louis Blues at Colorado Avalanche (9:30 p.m. ET; ESPN, SN360, TVAS, NHL LIVE)
With the Avalanche remaining in contention for the Presidents' Trophy, the Blues are on a team-record 16-game point streak (14-0-2).
Seattle Kraken at Vancouver Canucks (10 p.m. ET; SNP, ROOT-NW+, ESPN+, NHL LIVE)
The Canucks have lost three in a row (0-2-1) and are on the brink of elimination, six points behind the Stars for the second wild card from the West. The Kraken have been eliminated from playoff contention. The Canucks will be eliminated if they lose to Seattle in any fashion or if the Stars get at least one point against the Golden Knights.
