March 25, 2013: Jon Cooper is hired as Lightning coach.
March 5, 2014: The Lightning trade captain Martin St. Louis to the New York Rangers for forward Ryan Callahan, a first-round pick in the 2015 NHL Draft and a conditional second-round pick.
April 7, 2014:Yzerman signs four-year contract extension with Lightning that runs through 2018-19 season.

May 29, 2015: The Lightning reach the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2004 with a 2-0 win against the New York Rangers in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Final. Tampa Bay loses the Final to the Chicago Blackhawks in six games.
June 24, 2015: Yzerman wins GM of the Year Award after the Lightning finish second in the Atlantic Division with 108 points (50-24-8).
