Steven Stamkos did not play for the Tampa Bay Lightning in a 5-2 loss at the Florida Panthers on Thursday because of a lower-body injury.
The forward led the Lightning with seven goals and was tied with linemate Brayden Point with 14 points in 11 games this season. Tampa Bay said its captain is day to day. The Lightning used 11 forwards and seven defensemen in the game at BB&T Center. The loss ended a six-game winning streak. Stamkos did not play the final 5:26 of a 6-1 win at the Nashville Pedators on Tuesday. He played 15:28 and scored two goals with one assist.
