Naslund scored 21 goals, third-most in World Juniors history behind Pavel Bure (27) and Vladimir Ruzicka (25), each of whom played more games than Naslund. Playing on Forsberg's wing in 1993, Naslund's 13 goals set a single-tournament record and his 24 points are tied for second-most. Naslund also tied for the tournament lead in goals with eight in 1992 and helped Sweden finish second each year. The left wing played 15 NHL seasons for three teams.

Forsberg was a 17-year-old depth player who had one assist in six games to help Sweden win the 2012 WJC, its first championship since 1981. He was team captain in 2013 when they finished second, again in 2014 when his 12 points (four goals, eight assists) in seven games was second behind Finland forward Teuvo Teravainen (15 points; two goals, 13 assists) among all players, and he was named the tournament's most valuable player and best forward. The left wing will play for the Nashville Predators this season, his ninth in the NHL.
