Rasmus-Dahlin 7-21

Defenseman Rasmus Dahlin, projected to be one of the top picks in the 2018 NHL Draft, will be among the 25 players participating for Sweden at the World Junior Summer Showcase.
The event will be held at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Micighan, from July 28-Aug. 5 and feature practices and games against the United States, Canada and Finland. It's the first step in picking the teams for the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Dahlin, 17, had three points (one goal, two assists) in 26 games with Frolunda of the Swedish Hockey League last season, and 22 points (nine goals, 13 assits) in 24 games with Frolunda's team in Sweden's under-20 league.
"Excellent overall skill level and good size (6-foot-1, 166 pounds), uses his size to his advantage," NHL Director of European Scouting Goran Stubb said. "Does not shy away from the rough part of the game. He is a terrific skater and a very good puckhandler. His style of play and his decision-making is unbelievable for a player of his age."
Dahlin also is one of six players at the camp who helped Sweden reach the bronze-medal game at the 2017 WJC, along with goaltender Filip Gustavsson (Pittsburgh Penguins), and forwards Tim Soderlund (Chicago Blackhawks), Elias Pettersson (Vancouver Canucks), Fredrik Karlstrom (Dallas Stars) and Lias Andersson (New York Rangers).
Pettersson (No. 5) and Andersson (No. 7) also are two of four players picked in the first round of the 2017 NHL Draft that will be at the camp, along with defensemen Erik Brannstrom (No. 15, Vegas Golden Knights) and Timothy Liljegren (No. 17, Toronto Maple Leafs.)
Finland also will have four players taken in the first round of the 2017 draft at the camp: Defensemen Miro Heiskanen (No. 3, Dallas Stars), Juuso Valimaki (No. 16, Calgary Flames) and Urho Vaakanainen (No. 18, Boston Bruins), and forward Kristian Vesalainen (No. 24, Winnipeg Jets).

Miro-Heiskanen-Finland 7-21

Heiskanen, Valimaki, Vaakanainen and Vesalainen each played in the 2017 WJC, where Finland finished ninth. Also returning are forwards Janne Kuokkanen (Carolina Hurricanes), Aapeli Rasanen (Edmonton Oilers) and Otto Koivula (New York Islanders).
Of Finland's 33 players at the camp, 12 are eligible for the 2018 draft, including forward Jesse Ylonen (6-0, 160), who helped Finland win the silver medal at the 2017 IIHF World Under-18 Championship with nine points (four goals, five assists) in seven games.
