TBL@CHI: Hedman ties game on PP

CHICAGO --The Tampa Bay Lightning scored six unanswered goals, including four on the power play, to rally for a 6-3 win against the Chicago Blackhawks at United Center on Sunday.

Yanni Gourde had two goals and two assists, Ondrej Palat and Victor Hedman each had a goal and an assist, and Andrei Vasilevskiy made 22 saves for Tampa Bay (17-4-2), which extended its point streak to eight games (7-0-1).
"We're down by three goals, we need to get things going," Gourde said. "Pretty obvious if we don't turn the ship around at that point, we're not going to win that game. We started working better, put a few shifts together, scored a few goals to give us momentum, and it kind of carried on."
Mattias Janmark had a goal and assist, and Kevin Lankinen made 33 saves for Chicago (13-8-5), which was coming off a 4-3 shootout win here Friday and went 1-1-1 in the three-game series against Tampa Bay.

TBL@CHI: Kubalik, Janmark link up for goal

"We'd love to have a little more killer instinct," Blackhawks coach Jeremy Colliton said. "We have them down 3-0 at home, you just don't want to give them any life, any reason to believe. [A] quick power-play goal and then they score right away, it's probably not what you want to do against the (defending Stanley) Cup winners."
Forty seconds after Pius Suter gave the Blackhawks a 3-0 lead at 3:11 of the second period, Palat cut it to 3-1 with a wrist shot from the right face-off circle on the power play at 3:51.
Gourde then scored 23 seconds later on his own rebound in the left circle to make it 3-2 at 4:14, and Hedman scored from the point on the power play to tie it 3-3 at 7:51.
Gourde scored the third power-play goal of the second period from the left circle to give the Lightning a 4-3 lead at 16:55.

TBL@CHI: Gourde fires Lightning ahead on PP

"We came out obviously with a little bit more jump," Tampa Bay coach Jon Cooper said of the second period. "Now, it was helped by the fact that the power play was rolling. … When you go down 3-0, to be able to score pretty quick after that gave us a little bit of life, then we got that second one and you just see the confidence growing on us."
Alex Killorn made it 5-3 at 14:25 of the third period with a shot blocker side on Lankinen, and Pat Maroon pushed the lead to 6-3 at 17:25 with another power-play goal.
Philipp Kurashev gave Chicago a 1-0 lead at 10:51 of the first period, collecting a slap pass from Carl Soderberg before lifting a backhand over Vasilevskiy's left pad.
Janmark made it 2-0 at 15:34 when he batted the puck out of the air on the power play.
"[Dominik Kubalik] kind of tipped toward backdoor where I was, and it was just kind of a reflex," Janmark said. "I know the puck is somewhere there in the air, so just took a whack at it and was lucky to have scored from there."
NOTES:Tampa Bay defenseman Erik Cernak left at 9:27 of the second period after an illegal hit to the head by Chicago defenseman Connor Murphy, who was assessed a match penalty. … Defenseman Andreas Borgman had one hit and was minus-1 in 10:29 of ice time in his Lightning debut. … Blackhawks forward Alex DeBrincat had his eight-game point streak end (six goals, six assists). … Chicago defenseman Wyatt Kalynuk had two hits and was minus-2 in 10:50 of ice time in his NHL debut. … Maroon's goal was his 100th in the NHL. … Vasilevskiy is 8-0-0 in his career against Chicago.
