Conacher lifts Lightning past Stars in OT

DALLAS -- Cory Conacher scored with 41 seconds left in overtime to give the Tampa Bay Lightning a 5-4 win against the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center on Thursday.
Stars forward Mattias Janmark scored with the extra skater on and 3.5 seconds remaining in the third period to tie it 4-4.

Conacher beat goalie Ben Bishop to win the game when he tapped in the rebound of his initial shot while sliding on the ice.

"The way we rebounded, especially to come back to back," Lightning coach Jon Cooper said referring to a 2-1 overtime loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday. "We had to change time zone and fly a couple of hours. We came out determined. We deserved to get those goals."

Anthony Cirelli had a goal and an assist in his NHL debut, and J.T. Miller had two assists for his first points with the Lightning, who are 5-0-1 in their past six games. Louis Domingue made 31 saves for his fourth win in 11 starts this season for Tampa Bay and the Arizona Coyotes.
The Lightning (44-17-4) lead the Nashville Predators by three points for the best record in the NHL and are six points ahead of the Boston Bruins for first place in the Atlantic Division.
Tyler Seguin scored two goals for the Stars, who are 1-2-0 on a five-game homestand and 2-3-1 in their past six.

Dallas (36-23-5) leads the Anaheim Ducks and St. Louis Blues by three points for the first wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference.
"I'm really pleased with the way we played the game," Stars coach Ken Hitchcock said. "We made a couple of mistakes and paid the price for it, but we played a very good hockey game and especially in the third period."
The Situation Room initiated a review of Janmark's goal for goaltender interference by Seguin but allowed it to stand.
Brayden Point gave the Lightning a 1-0 lead 1:02 into the game.

Seguin tied it 1-1 on the power play at 11:05 of the first period, and then gave Dallas a 2-1 lead at 8:13 of the second.
Tampa Bay scored the next three goals.
Cirelli tied it 2-2 at 9:20, and Alex Killorn gave the Lightning a 3-2 lead at 13:53.
"It was an unbelievable feeling," said Cirelli, who was recalled from Syracuse of the American Hockey League earlier in the day. "Obviously, just being here and being able to play in a game was pretty cool. To get a goal too, it's something special. It's something I'll remember for the rest of my life."
Steven Stamkos made it 4-2 at 16:08 with his 25th goal.

Brett Ritchie got the Stars within 4-3 at 1:50 of the third period. It was his first goal in 22 games dating to Jan. 4.
Domingue remained in the game after his quad muscle cramped during overtime. The game was delayed more than three minutes while Domingue stretched.
"I wasn't going to put [No. 1 goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy] in net ice cold," Domingue said. "If someone's going to get hurt, I'd prefer it's me."
Bishop allowed five goals on 25 shots. It was his second loss to his former team this season; he allowed six goals on 28 shots in a 6-1 loss Nov. 16.
It was Miller's second game with the Lightning after being acquired in a trade from the New York Rangers on Monday.
Tampa Bay forward Nikita Kucherov, whose 82 points (33 goals, 49 assists) in 63 games lead the NHL, missed his second consecutive game with an upper-body injury.
