Stamkos parade

Everyone is doing things a little differently in 2020, and as such the Tampa Bay Lightning took to the seas for their Stanley Cup parade.

Players and coaches and their families boarded a series of boats on Wednesday to sail along the Hillsborough River with the Stanley Cup in tow before a celebration in front of socially distant fans in Raymond James Stadium, home to the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers and University of South Florida Bulls.

Fans lined the parade route to cheer the Lightning, many of whom arrived at the starting point via the historic downtown streetcar.

Several players wore Lightning championship gear, but forward Alex Killorn showed some love to the Tampa Bay Rays, who were busy defeating the Toronto Blue Jays to advance to the American League Division Series in neighboring St. Petersburg.

And no celebration on the water could be complete without Killorn's personal watercraft that was the centerpiece of his
wildly popular web series
"Dock Talks with Killer" in which he rode up and down the Hillsborough River interviewing his teammates and other Tampa athletes during the NHL pause.
Killorn shared the love with some lucky fans on the water. Then captain Steven Stamkos climbed onto the watercraft with the Stanley Cup as Killorn's passenger and they took off down the river.

The party moved to Raymond James Stadium where Stamkos fired up the crowd from the start.

The rally included speeches and a memorable moment where Stamkos and former Lightning captain Dave Andreychuk, who led Tampa Bay to its only other championship in 2004, hoisted the Cup together.
