What they still need

It's unclear if the Lightning will need better depth. They have their 23-man roster set after signing forward Tanner Jeannot to a two-year contract with an average annual value of $2.665 million July 15. But they are tight against the $83.5 million NHL salary cap and do not have any wiggle room, so they're hopeful they can replenish what was lost in Killorn, Perry, Colton, Maroon, Bellemare, Cole and Elliott with Sheary, Glendening, Archibald, Brown, de Haan and Johansson.

They said it

"I think a lot of guys in the League have Tampa circled just because of their success in the last 10 seasons or so. Their sustained success has always been something that I wanted to be a part of." -- forward Conor Sheary

Fantasy focus

Sheary will get the opportunity to have a top-six and secondary power-play role on a consistently strong Lightning team. He is a fantasy player worth considering in late rounds of deep leagues as a beneficiary of his new team. -- Anna Dua
