"Yeah, I'm open to anything," the forward told The Buffalo News on Thursday. "It's not like I've had an amazing statistical year by any means so far this year. Just in saying that, I think I've enjoyed my time here. I really like the guys, the coaching staff, the way we're treated as players, and like we said from the start, my agent and myself, we're open to anything."
Hall had not scored in 19 games before getting a goal in a 5-2 loss at the New York Islanders on Thursday. His other goal was scored in his Sabres debut on Jan. 14, and he has 11 assists in 21 games after signing a one-year, $8 million contract as a free agent in October.
Buffalo (6-12-3) is last in the MassMutual East Division, 12 points out of a Stanley Cup Playoff spot, and has lost five in a row and 10 of its past 12 games. The Sabres have not made the playoffs since 2011.
"I was never treating this as a one-year thing," the 29-year-old said. "I was always coming into it open-minded and we'll have to see what happens here, if there's interest on their side. But yeah, of course I have interest."
Hall scored 52 points (16 goals, 36 assists) in 65 games with the Arizona Coyotes and New Jersey Devils last season, including 27 points (10 goals, 17 assists) in 35 games after he was traded to Arizona on Dec. 16. He scored six points (two goals, four assists) in nine postseason games.
Hall won the Hart Trophy voted as NHL MVP in 2017-18 when he was sixth with a career-high 93 points (39 goals, 54 assists) in 76 games. He helped the Devils to a 27-point improvement in the standings and their first Stanley Cup Playoff appearance since 2012.
