These pups want the Cup.
Operation Kindness, a North Texas animal shelter
, celebrated a new litter of pups and the Dallas Stars making the 2020 Stanley Cup Final with one grand idea: They named the little guys after Stars players.

The shelter introduced four new male, 9-day old cattle dog mixes this week. Their names are Dallas, Kivi, Jamie and Benn. Natalie Buxton, director of marketing at Operation Kindness provided a scouting report on each pup for NHL.com.
Kivi is named after Stars forward Joel Kiviranta and is "very aware of his surroundings and where his siblings are, which of course reminded us of Kiviranta whose awareness resulted in his first NHL career hat-trick including the game-winning goal in overtime against the Avalanche that propelled us to the [Western] Conference [Final]."

Jamie and Benn are "inseparable and a force to be reckoned with when they are hungry! Their drive for sustenance reminds us of Jamie Benn's incredible willpower to make some phenomenal plays happen on the ice as he led the Stars to the [Final]."

Dallas' "spirit is resilient, much like the city for which he is named. He remains undaunted in the face of challenges, especially if those challenges come between him and food!"
"The Dallas Stars being named the Western Conference Champs for the first time in 20 years has brought some much-needed joy back to the city," Buxton said. "We can't wait to watch these puppies grow and get stronger while we cheer on their namesakes in the Stanley Cup Final."
