2018:The Colorado Avalanche win their 10th consecutive home game when Semyon Varlamov makes 44 saves in a 2-0 victory against the Canadiens at Pepsi Center, It's the longest home winning streak for the Avalanche/Quebec Nordiques franchise since moving to Denver in 1995 and matches streaks by the Nordiques in 1983-84 and 1994-95.
On the same night, the Columbus Blue become the second team in NHL history to take at least 50 shots on goal in three consecutive games; the only other team to do so is the Blackhawks from Oct. 9-15, 1955. Columbus bombards Toronto goalie Frederik Andersen with 57 shots, but Andersen makes 54 saves in a 6-3 victory at Air Canada Centre. Nazem Kadri has a hat trick and two assists for Toronto. The Maple Leafs win their fifth straight game and sweep a homestand of at least five games for the first time in their history.
