Forward Thomas DiPauli signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday.
DiPauli (5-foot-11, 197 pounds), was selected by the Washington Capitals in the fourth round (No. 100) of the 2012 NHL Draft. He played the past four seasons at the University of Notre Dame, where he had 30 goals, 78 points and a plus-29 rating in 145 games.
He did not sign a contract with the Capitals and became a free agent on Tuesday.
