Chicago Blackhawks players weren't going to let their captan's 1,000th career game go by without acknowledgment.
Jonathan Toews reached his milestone game on the road at FLA Live Arena on Thursday, so the pomp and circumstance would have to wait until the team was back at the United Center. Or would it? Blackhawks forward Alex DeBrincat put marker to paper and made a custom sign to hang over Toews' locker. The team shared a picture on social media.
After the game, longtime teammate Patrick Kane shared some thoughts about the captain's accomplishment on Twitter.
Congrats to a tremendous teammate, captain and friend on tonight’s 1,000th game milestone. Proud to have been along for the entire ride with you. pic.twitter.com/IKPE7c6x7t
