Shane Bowers among 40 chosen for Top Prospects game

Waterloo center Shane Bowers, an A-rated skater on NHL Central Scouting's players to watch list for the 2017 NHL Draft, will be one of 40 draft-eligible players participating in the 2017 United States Hockey League/NHL Top Prospects Game at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on Tuesday.
This year marks the fifth USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game after 45 players with league ties were selected at the 2016 NHL Draft. The 2017 draft will be held in Chicago on June 23-24.

Bowers (6-foot-1, 183 pounds), who will attend Boston University in 2017-18, has 10 goals and 22 points in 29 games this season.
"[Bowers] is a hard-working, smart, two-way player," Greg Rajanen of NHL Central Scouting said. "He's a solid skater, with good passing ability. He makes players around him better and has a very good feel for game. He uses his size well in contact areas."
The game will also feature nine B-rated players, or potential second- and third-round NHL draft picks: defensemen Ben Mirageas of Bloomington, Clayton Phillips of Fargo, Alexis Binner of Green Bay, Jakub Sirota of Cedar Rapids, and Michael Anderson of Waterloo, and goaltenders Cayden Primeau of Lincoln, Keith Petruzzelli of Muskegon, Dayton Rasmussen of Tri-City, and Maksim Zhukov of Green Bay.
Zhukov (6-2, 188) is 10-5-1 with a 2.15 goals-against average and .912 save percentage this season.
"[Zhukov] reads and reacts to situations so well; he's very strong physically in all areas of the game," Al Jensen of NHL Central Scouting said. "He has excellent net coverage and offers very quick lateral skills; he has excellent post-to-post coverage."
Primeau (6-2, 177) is the son of former Philadelphia Flyers captain Keith Primeau. He is 6-7-2 with a 3.20 GAA, .892 save percentage and one shutout in 15 games.
