Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals scored his 886th NHL goal Sunday against the Seattle Kraken, moving him within nine goals of breaking Wayne Gretzky’s record of 894. After going his past two games without a goal, he will attempt to get closer to "The Great One's" record on Saturday, when the Capitals visit the San Jose Sharks (5 p.m. ET; MNMT, NBCSCA).
