NHL nationally televised games for week of Oct. 28

Each Monday throughout the 2024-25 NHL season, ESPN and NHL Network analyst Kevin Weekes will provide fans with a guide of games that will be nationally televised that week. Today, a look at games for the fourth week of the season.

Among the highlights, Steven Stamkos returning to Tampa Bay with the Nashville Predators, the Toronto Maple Leafs visit the Winnipeg Jets on "Prime Monday Night Hockey," and the Florida Panthers and Dallas Stars playing two games at the 2024 NHL Global Series Finland presented by Fastenal.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 28

Nashville Predators at Tampa Bay Lightning (7:30 p.m. ET; ESPN+, HULU, TVAS)

Steven Stamkos returns to Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay to play the Lightning, where he played 16 seasons. He is a two-time Stanley Cup champion and the Lightning leader in games (1,082), goals (555) and points (1,137). Stamkos signed a four-year contract with the Predators in free agency. Nashville has won three straight games since opening the season with five consecutive losses. Tampa Bay is coming off a 3-0 win against the Washington Capitals on Saturday.

Toronto Maple Leafs at Winnipeg Jets (7:30 p.m. ET; Prime)

The Jets (8-0-0) put their perfect record to the test when they host the Maple Leafs on "Prime Monday Night Hockey." They have scored 4.50 goals per game, allowed 2.00 goals per game and is 43.5 percent on the power play. Kyle Connor has a point in each of their eight games (six goals, four assists). Toronto has lost three in a row (0-2-1), with forward William Nylander being held without a point.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 29

New York Rangers at Washington Capitals (7:30 p.m. ET; ESPN)

The Capitals had won five consecutive games prior to Saturday. Forward Alex Ovechkin (855 goals) will continue his quest toward Wayne Gretzky's NHL goal-scoring record of 894 with 42 goals in 73 games against New York. The Rangers have been rolling led by forward Artemi Panarin's eight-game point streak to start the season (six goals, nine assists). They play the Capitals for the first time since the 2024 Eastern Conference First Round, a four-game sweep of the best-of-7 series.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 30

Vegas Golden Knights at Los Angeles Kings (10 p.m. ET; TNT, MAX, truTV)

Forwards Mark Stone (17 points) and Jack Eichel (15) are among the NHL scoring leaders for the Golden Knights, who are rolling with three straight wins, scoring at least six goals in each. Vegas defeated Los Angeles 6-1 as part of the NHL Frozen Frenzy last Tuesday. Kings center Anze Kopitar has 36 points (14 goals, 22 assists) in 33 games against the Golden Knights, the most by any player against the franchise.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 1

Florida Panthers at Dallas Stars (2 p.m. ET; Victory+, SCRIPPS, NHLN, SN)

It's the first of two games between the Panthers and Stars as part of the 2024 NHL Global Series Finland presented by Fastenal at Nokia Arena in Tampere. Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov was born in Tampere and is one of four Finnish players on the team (Anton Lundell, Eetu Luostarinen, Niko Mikkola). The Stars' Finland contingent includes Roope Hintz, Miro Heiskanen and Esa Lindell.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2

Toronto Maple Leafs at St. Louis Blues (7 p.m. ET; FDSNMW, SNP, SNW, SNO, CBC)

A "Hockey Night in Canada" game features Maple Leafs coach Craig Berube returning to Enterprise Center in St. Louis for the first time since he was fired by the Blues on Dec. 12, 2023. Berube guided them to their first Stanley Cup championship in 2019. The Maple Leafs were unable to get their coach a win in his first game against his former team, a 5-1 loss in Toronto on Oct. 24. This begins a five-game homestand for the Blues.

Montreal Canadiens at Pittsburgh Penguins (7 p.m. ET; SN-PIT, SNE, TVAS, NHLN)

Another Hockey Night in Canada matchup has Sidney Crosby against a team he loves playing against (64 points; 23 goals, 41 assists in 50 games). The Penguins have lost five straight (0-4-1). Forwards Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki lead the Canadiens with Juraj Slafkovsky sidelined with an upper-body injury.
