Juraj Slafkovsky will have a phone hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Wednesday.
The Montreal Canadiens forward is facing discipline for boarding Detroit Red Wings forward Matt Luff on Tuesday. The incident occurred along the wall in the neutral zone at 14:28 of the third period of Montreal's 3-2 shootout win at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Slafkovsky received a major penalty on the play and a game misconduct. Luff left the game with an upper-body injury and did not return; the forward will be out 10-12 weeks. The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: boarding. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
