2024 Stadium Series split

Are you ready for some football ... stadium-hosted outdoor hockey?

Of course you are. So are the Philadelphia Flyers, New Jersey Devils, New York Rangers and New York Islanders.

With Saturday's announcement that the 2024 Navy Federal Credit Union Stadium Series will be a two-day, four-team event at MetLife Stadium on Feb. 17-18, the involved teams took to social media to show they're here for it. MetLife is the football home of the New York Giants and New York Jets.

The Flyers posted a hype video from their past outdoor games, showing that they are ready for the 97-mile trip up the Turnpike to, as they put it while echoing Bruce Springsteen, "the swamps of Jersey."

The Devils, who have a much shorter 10-mile trip from Prudential Center, had defenseman Dougie Hamilton show off some football-style eye black in a brief video.

The Rangers, who have the shortest commute to MetLife at 8.5 miles, shared a photo of New York Giants coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen cheering on the team in Madison Square Garden with a humorous caption.

The Islanders, who are 28 miles away, shared a photo of two logos in the snow and the cold face emoji, which if you've experienced February outdoors in the Northeast, is sure to be accurate.

The Flyers and Devils will play the first game of the series on Saturday, Feb. 17.

On Sunday, Feb. 18, the Rangers will tangle with the Islanders.
