NEW YORK -- Florida Panthers forward Sam Bennett has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for roughing Pittsburgh Penguins forward Drew O'Connor during NHL Game No. 615 in Florida on Friday, Jan. 3, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 17:55 of the third period. Bennett was assessed a minor penalty for roughing.
The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
