rousseau sabres

The Buffalo Sabres had a special guest, one that knows a little something about hitting, to bang the pregame drum before the team's home opener on Thursday.

Buffalo Bills defensive end Greg Rousseau got things started at KeyBank Center, firing up the crowd before a game against the Los Angeles Kings.

Rousseau was joined by mascot Sabretooth as the crowd chanted "Let's go Buffalo!"

Earlier in the day, Bills players made a good luck video for the Sabres and predicted who would lead the team in points, with forwards Alex Tuch and Tage Thompson and newly-minted captain Rasmus Dahlin getting a lot of mentions.

Perhaps the boldest prediction came from Bills linebacker Dorian Williams, who said that Sabres goalie Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen would score an empty-net goalie goal this season, so keep an eye on that one because if it comes true Williams should win some kind of prize.
