BOS@NYR: Lundqvist honored for HHOF induction pregame

Just a few weeks after his Hockey Hall of Fame induction, Henrik Lundqvist was already back on the ice at Madison Square Garden.

For a ceremonial puck drop, that is.

The legendary New York Rangers goalie returned to his home arena on Saturday to drop the puck before the Rangers’ matchup against the Boston Bruins.

Lundqvist – who had his No. 30 retired at the start of 2022 – walked past the Rangers bench and gave fist bumps to all the current players before making his way to center ice.

He was joined for the ceremony by his daughters Charlise and Juli while Bruins captain Brad Marchand and Rangers captain Jacob Trouba lined up on either side of the family.

After both players shook hands with Lundqvist and his daughters, everyone made their way off the ice while Lundqvist got a loud cheer from the Rangers faithful.

He’s definitely heard a cheer or two from that crowd in the past.
