Jonas Brothers SS

The Jonas Brothers are about to feel so "Cool" at the 2024 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series. Literally.

NHL.com spoke with the Grammy-nominated band to discuss their upcoming performance, New Jersey Devils memories and their hockey fandom.

Their pregame concert starts at 6:30 p.m. ET on Saturday before the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers face off at MetLife Stadium.

What are you guys most looking forward to during the Stadium Series on Saturday?

Joe: "This will be a bucket list moment for us. We have always wanted to play for the NHL, a lifetime dream. And what better way to do it [than] at a football stadium."

Is there anything you guys can tease about your performance?

Nick: "We've prepared for the cold. We're very excited to get out there and play a medley of our hits. For the first time in New Jersey, we will be playing our song “Strong Enough” as part of that medley, which is always fun. Jersey crowds are pretty special. We grew up going to games in, at that time it was called the Continental Airlines Arena, it was then renamed the Izod Center and now it's closed down. But fun to be back on the home turf and great that it's that deep Jersey connection."

Is this the coldest performance you guys have ever done?

Joe: "We've performed in very cold climates. I think it was one of our first performances ever. We performed a New Year's Eve day performance, which we didn't know was a thing, in 2007 I believe, and it was in Boston, near town hall. About five people showed up and it was like three below zero. For this performance, we have been wonderfully given some clothing by Nick and Priyanka's collaboration with Perfect Moment. So, we're going to be feeling very warm, fuzzy and cozy."

You guys are big Giants fans, is this a pinch me moment to be playing at MetLife Stadium?

Nick: "This is a really exciting integration with the NHL and MetLife. This is, I think, the precursor performance to a potential performance of our own there someday. That is obviously the goal. This is a great way to get our feet wet and feel that energy of that incredible crowd. [We are] honestly really honored that the NHL asked us to do this. We feel a deep connection with the hockey fans. Earlier this season we went to an Oilers game, which was really fun and the crowd was really warm towards us. Hopefully it’s the same thing at this show."

Do you have any favorite memories at the Meadowlands, at either the old Giants Stadium or MetLife growing up?

Nick: "Well, the first arena show that we ever played on our own was at Izod. That was pretty incredible. We started the tour playing mostly small theaters and then just the momentum of that moment in our career was really wild and we ended the tour by playing that place. It was really significant. Anytime we get to go to games at MetLife, it's always a good time. We're die-hard Giants fans and just love New York sports as a whole."

Growing up in New Jersey, do you guys have any memories from when the Devils won the Stanley Cup in 2003?

Kevin: "Yeah, I went with my friend to the playoff games when they were here in 2003, winning the Stanley Cup. So, I went to two of the playoff games. He had box seats, so it was a big deal for me to be able to sneak in there and enjoy those games. I didn't go to the Finals, but it was still really fun. I think that was my first real memory of going to Devils games and falling in love with the sport."

You mentioned you guys went to the Oilers game earlier this season, what's your favorite thing about attending hockey games?

Joe: "There's just an environment at hockey games that are unlike any other sporting event. Hockey fans are some of the most electric fan bases out there. You’ll meet a lot of people that are like, ‘I just strictly like hockey.’ That's just something you don't get in other sports. We're not the best hockey players ourselves, but we really appreciate watching. We grew up watching 'The Mighty Ducks' when we were younger and that was our go-to film as brothers and the camaraderie that we saw there."

What position would you guys each pick if you played hockey?

Nick: "[I’d] probably try to be a goalie. I think that you get a lot of the glory when things go right, but you also have to know how to deal with extreme pressure, which I like to believe that I can."

Joe: "I think I'd probably be the mascot."

Kevin: "I like it, Joe."

Joe: "Or I'd be one of the people that are shooting T-shirts out of the T-shirt cannon."

Kevin: "I want to believe that I could be a power forward, but I know that that's not going to happen. So, I don't know. Hockey was never a sport that I could actually play very well, but here's to dreaming, I guess."
