Tkachuk eats lunch with Stanley Cup at local St. Louis restaurant

Matthew Tkachuk reunited with his buddy Lord Stanley in St. Louis on Wednesday.

The Florida Panthers forward took the Stanley Cup out to lunch at a local Italian eatery, Grassi’s Ristorante, to kick off his day with the trophy in Missouri.

In a video posted to Grassi's Ristorante’s Instagram account, Tkachuk munched on a sub and a salad while Stanley took a seat next to him on the table. The Panthers forward then posed for pictures with the Cup and the restaurant staff behind the counter.

After lunch, Tkachuk took the trophy to go hang in his family’s backyard. The veteran forward and his father, former St. Louis Blues great Keith Tkachuk, helped his sister, Taryn, to a drink out of the Cup. She posted a video of the refreshment on her Instagram story.

Tkachuk then stopped by his old elementary school, Villa Duchesne, where he and his family posed with Stanley in front of the "Tkachuk Terrace." He also introduced the trophy to some students at the school.

The Panthers forward and his brother, Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk, also took a picture on the steps of their former high school, Chaminade College Preparatory, with the trophy.

On Thursday, the forward started his day off waking up next to the Cup. He posted a picture of them snuggling on his Instagram story.

Later, Tkachuk took the Cup to meet patients at St. Louis Children's Hospital. He posed for pictures with patients and even helped one little guy lift the trophy.

The visit from Lord Stanley comes after Tkachuk hung with a fellow champion last weekend in Lake Tahoe. The Panthers star posted a picture with three-time Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce on his Instagram story. He captioned the photo "Champs."

The duo both participated in the American Century Championship golf tournament.

Tkachuk certainly is enjoying his summer like a champion.
