Dallas Stars coach Pete DeBoer is not leaving the team nor is he switching sports or to the college ranks.

"No, I'm not going to Alabama," DeBoer said before the Stars played the Blackhawks in Chicago on Saturday, referencing a social media mixup where some thought he was Kalen DeBoer, the new football coach of the University of Alabama.

Kalen DeBoer is moving to the Crimson Tide after coaching at the University of Washington. He succeedes legendary college football coach Nick Saban, who retired.

Pete DeBoer took the misnomer with good humor.

"It's a Dutch name, and it's a common name over there (the Netherlands)," he said. "You don't see it much over here. Kind of cool to see that."
