Luongo gnocchi poutine

Roberto Luongo combined his roots for one epic meal out of the Stanley Cup.

The Hockey Hall of Fame goalie ate gnocchi poutine out of the Cup during his day with the trophy in Saint-Leonard, Quebec on Wednesday.

Luongo, who has Italian roots, and his family munched on the gnocchi that was topped with cheese curds and brown gravy.

Earlier in the day, the Florida Panthers special advisor to the GM took the trophy to his childhood ice rink which is named after him.

He posed for pictures with Lord Stanley outside the arena and in front of a display case dedicated to him.

This isn’t the first time Luongo has enjoyed quality time and an Italian meal out of the trophy. He also snacked on spaghetti out of the Cup at a local South Florida Italian restaurant the week after the Panthers were crowned champions.

In the wise words of every Italian grandma, “Mangia, Mangia.”
