Muzzin was expected to be out three weeks had Toronto advanced. He scored three points (two goals, one assist) and averaged 19:30 of ice time in six games in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He led Maple Leafs defensemen with 16 hits, and his 11 blocked shots were second to Morgan Rielly (13).
Muzzin scored 27 points (four goals, 23 assists) and averaged 21:35 in ice time in 53 games in the regular season, and he led Toronto with 101 hits and 94 blocked shots.
Rasmus Sandin, who was scratched in Game 6, replaced Muzzin in the lineup. He scored one goal in five playoff games.
The Canadiens will face the Winnipeg Jets in the second round after winning the final three games of the series.
