"I'm just trying to play my game," Jarnkrok said. "Try to work as hard as I can then create some space for those two (Marner and Tavares)."
Keefe said the injury could have been a blessing in disguise as it allowed Jarnkrok a less stressful way to adjust to his first season with the Maple Leafs.
"I think the time with the injury really helped him get really comfortable here," Keefe said. "He comes into a new team, he arrived shortly before training camp, and then things are moving real fast and you've got a young family, a new team, new organization, new teammates, all that. It takes some time. I think the injury actually really helped sort of settle things down, allowed him some time to get comfortable. ... And since he's come back, he's been terrific and he complements those guys well."
Zach Aston-Reese made it 2-0 at 17:44. After Flyers defenseman Tony DeAngelo fanned on a clearing attempt, Pontus Holmberg poked the puck on net, and Aston-Reese scored on the rebound.
Konecny cut it to 2-1 at 18:00 when he gloved down a clearing attempt from Marner and beat Murray from the right face-off dot. It extended his goal streak to six games and his point streak to eight (nine goals, six assists), each of which are NHL career highs.
"I felt like there were times we were in the game, but when we got momentum they grabbed it right back," Konecny said.
Timmins, who was playing in his 14th game this season and 53rd in the NHL, scored his first career goal to make it 3-1 at 7:01 of the second period.
"I think I was squeezing my stick a little on some opportunities in these first 30 games," Timmins said. "I just had to shoot more pucks, and luckily that went in. It was a nice feeling."
