Co-hosts Dan Rosen and Shawn P. Roarke recorded the episode Monday night after the dust had settled from a wild day that featured 33 trades.
Rosen and Roarke agreed that Fleury could be the rare goalie who makes a major impact on his new team after being acquired at the deadline. The last to do it was Dwayne Roloson, who helped the Edmonton Oilers advance to the Stanley Cup Final in 2006.
They also discussed the impact of Giroux's decision to waive his no-move clause and what that says about Florida as a destination for NHL players.
Regarding the New York Rangers, who added forwards Andrew Copp and Tyler Motte, and defenseman Justin Braun, Rosen said they will be harder to play against and could spend less time in their zone with an improved bottom-six forward group.
The co-hosts also like the Pittsburgh Penguins following the addition of forward Rickard Rakell, but there were questions surrounding Nick Leddy's fit with the St. Louis Blues and why the Edmonton Oilers didn't make a bigger splash.
The Colorado Avalanche, Anaheim Ducks and Seattle Kraken were among the other teams discussed on the near hour-long podcast.
