Tristan Jarry scores the Penguins' first goalie goal

After a goal from 175 feet away, Pittsburgh Penguins Tristan Jarry goalie may have to change his name to Tristan Farry.

Jarry scored an empty-net goal from his own crease Thursday in a 4-2 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

According to NHL EDGE statistics, the empty-net shot went 175 feet, travelled at a top speed of 55.76 mph and covered 148.7 feet while airborne, and maxed out at 16.4 feet above the ice.

Last season, Linus Ullmark of the Boston Bruins scored a goalie goal that clocked in at 53.24 mph, had an airborne distance of 132.9 feet and a max height of 15 feet.

"It was kind of a perfect scenario,” Jarry said. “They dumped it right on net and I didn't even have to stop it. I just shot it right on the fly and it ended up going in.”

He became the 14th different goalie to score in NHL history, and the ninth to do by shooting the puck into the net. Ullmark scored in the Bruins' 3-1 win at the Vancouver Canucks last season on Feb. 25.

With the perfect strike, Jarry set off a big celebration with teammates and on social media.

Jarry is an old hat at scoring goals dating to his time with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League.

The Penguins affiliate even gave the moment the full meme treatment.

Even Penguins captain Sidney Crosby, who has seen quite a few things during his time in the League, was impressed.

Jarry of course got the first NHL goal treatment from the team.

And who knows, maybe that puck collection gets added to in the future.
