NEW YORK - New Jersey Devils forward Tuomo Ruutu has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for slew-footing Pittsburgh Penguins forward Matt Cullen during NHL Game No. 981 in New Jersey on Sunday, March 6, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 4:05 of the third period. Ruutu was assessed a minor penalty for tripping.
