Gritty has taken his shot and now the Philadelphia Flyers hope you will too.
The team hosted "Take Your Shot," an event in conjunction with the Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium at Liacouras Center in Philadelphia on Thursday, encouraging local residents to get vaccinated in the effort to combat the ongoing pandemic. The Flyers handed out exclusive "I Took My Shot" stickers and T-shirts featuring Gritty with a rolled up sleeve and bandage.
The Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium & the Flyers partnered together today for a walk-up vaccination event at the Liacouras Center.
Team employees also handed out water and hand sanitizer while Dunkin' provided coffee and treats for those waiting in line and the volunteer workers at the clinic. The Flyers Ice Team and Flyers Alumni also were in attendance at the event. At the start of the event, Flyers Charities presented Dr. Ala Stanford and the Black Doctors Consortium with a check for $10,000 to help offset the cost of the free clinic.
