New York Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin had himself a game on Monday and MSG analyst Steve Valiquette couldn't help himself.

During the second intermission, Valiquette was praising the play of Shesterkin who, by the way, made 40 saves in a
[2-1 overtime win against the Toronto Maple Leafs

] before taking a little jab at his former teammate and co-analyst sitting in the chair next to him, Henrik Lundqvist.
"Shesterkin is trying to keep this game as close as he can for as long as he can and overall, I think that's the best period of New York Rangers goaltending we've ever seen in the history of the franchise," Valiquette said, breaking out in laughter while looking over at Lundqvist.

It was something Valiquette said solely for Lundqvist's benefit. The two were Rangers teammates from 2006-10.
Shesterkin, who is off to an excellent start to his career with the Rangers, has played just 49 career games. Lundqvist, of course, is the Rangers career leader in wins (459) and 6th on the NHL career list.
Lundqvist only recently accepted a job with MSG Network after
announcing his retirement
in August. And while the two had a good chuckle, Lundqvist wasn't quick to dismiss Shesterkin's impressive play.
"It was good," Lundqvist said in response after the laugh.
