TORONTO/NEW YORK -- Tampa Bay Lightning forward Valtteri Filppula and Florida Panthers forward Jussi Jokinen will be alternate captains for Team Finland at the World Cup of Hockey 2016, the Finland Ice Hockey Association announced Monday.
Team Finland named Minnesota Wild forward Mikko Koivu captain on Aug. 22.

Filppula, 32, had eight goals and 23 assists in 76 games last season. He has 388 points (145 goals, 243 assists) in 716 career NHL games with the Lightning and Detroit Red Wings.
Jokinen, 33, had 18 goals and 42 assists in 81 games last season. He has 518 points (175 goals, 343 assists) in 822 career NHL games with the Panthers, Lightning, Pittsburgh Penguins, Carolina Hurricanes and Dallas Stars.
The World Cup will be played at Air Canada Centre in Toronto from Sept. 17 to Oct. 1.
