Edler suspended two games for kneeing

NEW YORK - Vancouver Canucks defenseman Alexander Edler has been suspended for two games, without pay, for kneeing Toronto Maple Leafs forward Zach Hyman during NHL Game No. 697 in Vancouver on Sunday, April 18, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 10:08 of the second period. Edler was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for kneeing.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Edler will forfeit $103,448.28. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
