PHILADELPHIA -- Carter Hart made 41 saves for the Philadelphia Flyers in their eighth straight win, 2-1 against the Vancouver Canucks at Wells Fargo Center on Monday.

Hart has won seven consecutive games. The 20-year-old rookie is the fourth goalie in NHL history with a seven-game winning streak before turning 21 and the first since Carey Price of the Montreal Canadiens went 7-0-0 from March 20-April 5, 2008. The NHL record is eight straight by Jocelyn Thibault of the Quebec Nordiques from March 6-26, 1995.
"I'm not really looking at that," Hart said. "I just want to win hockey games. That's our goal here, to keep this thing rolling, take things one game at a time, and just win."

Sean Couturier and Jakub Voracek scored for the Flyers (24-23-6), who have their longest winning streak since they won 10 in a row from Nov. 27-Dec. 14, 2016.
"Right now, we're a confident team," Couturier said. "Bounces seem to go our way. ... I feel like at crucial times we're stepping up and getting the job done. That's what you want at this time of the year, get the two points, and lately we've been doing that."

Brock Boeser scored for Vancouver (24-23-6), which is 4-2-2 in its past eight games. Jacob Markstrom made 28 saves.
"I thought we played a [heck] of a game," Canucks coach Travis Green said. "Sometimes you play great games and you lose. That was one of our better games of the year."
Vancouver defenseman Alexander Edler was taken off on a stretcher with 10:22 remaining in the third period. His stick got stuck in Voracek's skates, pulling Edler face-first onto the ice. He was taken for X-rays for possible facial fractures. Green said he did not know how long Edler could be out.
Couturier gave Philadelphia a 1-0 lead when he scored a power-play goal with 1:23 left in the first period. He got the puck at the left hash marks and beat Markstrom to the far side past his glove.
Voracek made it 2-0 at 3:20 of the second period. Canucks defenseman Chris Tanev turned over the puck at the Flyers blue line, and Phil Varone sent Voracek in alone on Markstrom. Voracek dragged the puck around a lunging Markstrom and scored.
Boeser scored to make it 2-1 at 5:14. Hart skated into the right face-off circle to play a long Canucks pass, but his chip off the wall went to Boeser, who scored into an open net.
Hart made 18 saves in the third period, including a diving play to deny Nikolay Goldobin from the left side with 5:36 remaining.
"I just kind of saw the play bounce out to that guy on the side," Hart said. "Just dove across and hoped it would hit me, and it did."
Boeser said he almost started to celebrate.
"That's another heck of a save by him," he said. "It's a game of inches, and that's how it was tonight."
Hart has provided a noticeable lift to the Flyers since being recalled from Lehigh Valley of the American Hockey League on Dec. 17.
"He's been remarkable," Couturier said. "That save [on Goldobin], he's making some almost miracles out there."

They said it

"You don't want to see anyone go down like that, especially your best defenseman, and you know it's scary when you see a guy get knocked unconscious like that. ... We wanted to get that one for him, but we just couldn't capitalize." -- Canucks forward Bo Horvat on defenseman Alexander Edler
"We're taking each game at a time. For us, a shift at a time is the best way for us to go, so as we're doing that. Everybody is building confidence every shift and every game is better and better, so I think if we keep doing that instead of look at the big picture, it's better for us." -- Flyers defenseman Radko Gudas
