Lindsay Watt searched for hours in the Cabo San Lucas heat to find that big, sparkling Vegas Golden Knights hat she just had to have. Then she saw forward Ryan Reaves at a July 4 parade, had a fangirl moment, and now the hat belongs to him.

Reaves and fellow Golden Knights forward Jonathan Marchessault represented the organization along with the team's Drumbots drumline, mascot Chance and Golden Aces cheer team at the 25th annual Summerlin Council Patriotic Parade in Las Vegas, where Reaves' flashy hat garnered much attention.

"A nice fan brought me this hat and it changed the whole day for me," Reaves said. "It's nice, huh? Nice and shiny. Really good paint job. I don't know who did that, but first of all, thank you. Second of all, really good work."
Watt had seen someone on social media wearing the hat, and being a huge Golden Knights fan, she and a girlfriend were determined to find it on a recent birthday trip to Mexico. They found only one in a mercado, so Watt called dibs because it was her birthday and talked the price down from $85 to $20.
"I schlepped the giant monstrosity home back to Vegas and (the parade) was my first opportunity to wear it," Watt said. "The VGK float came down and I got so excited to see Reavo, I ran up to it and screamed that I wanted him to have it."
Even though she never really got a chance to use it after all that work to get it, the experience of handing it to one of her favorite players was totally worth.
"Literally the best $20 I ever spent," Watt said. "Seeing the videos today made me happy. Vegas loves us some Ryan Reaves."
