The Vegas Golden Knights' historic first season will continue after they advanced to the Western Conference Final by defeating the San Jose Sharks 3-0 in Game 6 of their second-round series on Sunday.
The Golden Knights are the third team in NHL history to win multiple playoff series in their inaugural season, joining the Toronto Arenas in 1918 and the St. Louis Blues in 1968. They're the fifth to do it in their first Stanley Cup Playoff appearance, joining the 1926 Montreal Maroons (second season), 1927 Boston Bruins (third season), 1975 New York Islanders (third season), 1996 Florida Panthers (third season) and 2003 Minnesota Wild (third season).
