Eichel arrive

What happens in Vegas keeps happening when you're the new hockey player in town.

Jack Eichel was the latest player to get the big glittering welcome from the Vegas Golden Knights when he got to town Sunday.
Eichel,
who was traded to Vegas by the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday
, arrived to a reception that included the Golden Knights Drumbots, cheerleaders and Chance the Gila monster mascot.
The Golden Knight handed Eichel a new hat as the forward emerged from the vehicle with a huge smile on his face.

"It was surprising, but this is a show town, so it was very nice and it's definitely a nice feeling as a player to get a welcome like that," Eichel told Darren Millard of AT&T Sportsnet during the Golden Knights' 5-2 loss at the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday.
Forward Mark Stone, who was traded to the Golden Knights by the Ottawa Senators in 2019, was the first to get the grand gesture. Defenseman Alec Martinez received a similar reception when he was traded to Vegas from the Los Angeles Kings in 2020.
