2-11 Thompson VGK injury status

Logan Thompson is out week to week with a lower-body injury the Vegas Golden Knights goalie sustained in a 5-1 win against the Minnesota Wild on Thursday.

Thompson allowed one goal on 24 shots before leaving at 1:19 of the third period after stretching out to make a save.
"I mean, there's not much you can do about it. Keep your fingers crossed when it happens," said Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy, who expects Thompson to return this season. "It never looks good when a guy gets carried off, and hopefully he's a quick healer. He's young."
Thompson, who will turn 25 on Feb. 25, was selected to the 2023 Honda NHL All-Star game earlier this month. He is 20-13-3 with a 2.66 goals-against average, .914 save percentage and two shutouts in 36 games (35 starts).
The Golden Knights will turn to Adin Hill, who made four saves in relief of Thompson on Thursday, and Laurent Brossoit in goal. Hill is 11-5-1 with a 2.58 GAA and .909 save percentage in 20 games (18 starts). Brossoit is 8-11-3 with a 2.72 GAA, .909 save percentage and two shutouts in 23 games this season with Henderson of the American Hockey League. He hasn't played a game with Vegas this season but was 10-9-3 with a 2.90 GAA, .895 save percentage and one shutout with the Golden Knights in 24 games (21 starts) last season.
"I think the good news is, 'Hilly's' been playing well,"Cassidy said. "[We're] not throwing a guy there who's lacking confidence, and 'LB's' been an NHL goalie, so we're not pulling up some kid that's never played. We do have highly motivated guy in LB, and now you have Hilly who's played well who'd probably love the shot at being the guy. So here it is."
Cassidy wasn't sure how he would rotate the goalies.
"That might depend on LB, how he does," Cassidy said. "For me, it's a little bit of, let's see how he does and go from there. I don't want to tell you, 'It's going to be this,' and then get away from that. So, Adin's been good, we don't have a lot of games this month (seven remaining), so you're not pressed into back-to-back situations. So, we're going to let it play out."
The Golden Knights (31-18-4), who have won two in a row, are also without forward Mark Stone, who's out indefinitely after having back surgery on Jan. 31. Stone has 38 points (17 goals, 21 assists) in 43 games, second on Vegas to forward Chandler Stephenson (12 goals, 34 assists).
Vegas plays the Anaheim Ducks at T-Mobile Arena on Sunday (3 p.m. ET; ATTSN-RM, BSSC, SN, SN1, ESPN+, SN NOW).
