LOS ANGELES -- David Perron scored with 1:30 remaining in overtime to give the Vegas Golden Knights a 3-2 victory against the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center on Thursday.
Vegas has won six games in a row, the longest streak by an NHL team in its inaugural season, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

"Our team is coming together more and more just as our play gets better, and it's fun," forward James Neal said. "Every day is fun, so right through our organization, everything has been great all year and it shows on the ice."

Brendan Leipsic got his first goal of the season, and Jonathan Marchessault scored for the Golden Knights (25-9-2), who have earned a point in 11 straight games (10-0-1), also an NHL record for a team in its inaugural season.
Marc-Andre Fleury made 26 saves to help Vegas improve to 11-1-0 against the Pacific Division.
Drew Doughty had a goal and an assist, and Marian Gaborik scored for the Kings (22-11-5), whose five-game home winning streak ended. Jonathan Quick made 36 saves.
Perron beat Quick with a wrist shot to the short side from the left face-off circle after taking a pass from Reilly Smith on the rush.
"He's honestly my favorite goalie to score on, and it hasn't happened that much, so hopefully there is more to come," Perron said.

The Golden Knights are in first place in the Western Conference. They lead the Kings by three points for first in the Pacific (52-49).
Leipsic scored at 11:10 of the third period to give Vegas a 2-1 lead, putting in the rebound of Alex Tuch's shot, but Doughty tied it 2-2 with 4:33 remaining.
The Golden Knights were not rattled and improved to 6-0 in overtime.
"We just keep playing our game," Perron said. "Just the way we played, I thought we were the better team."
The Kings took a 1-0 lead at 8:13 of the first period on a double deflection. Derek Forbort's shot from the blue line struck Marchessault's stick and then redirected off Gaborik in the slot.

Forbort ended a nine-game point drought with the assist.
Marchessault tied it 1-1 with 1:26 left in the second period. Quick stopped Colin Miller's slap shot, but Marchessault scored four seconds later to extend his point streak to five games (three goals, five assists).
The assist gave Miller 20 points, most among Golden Knights defensemen.
The Kings were 5-for-5 on the penalty kill, including 1:21 down two men early in the third period, compared to one power play conceded by the Golden Knights.
"In some ways, I don't even think we deserved a point, so we're obviously kind of lucky and happy now that we got it, but that wasn't a very good performance by us," Doughty said.
